Treatment and rehabilitation is based upon in-depth knowledge of functional anatomy, accurate patient history, diligent observation and a comprehensive examination. It is through accurate assessment, utilising appropriate tests and physical examination, that sports injuries can be treated effectively and rehabilitation plans be initiated. This course combines both theory and practical applications of treatment protocols. The role of the Sports Therapist in prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of common sports injuries is studied in classroom and laboratory settings. Topics include: recognition and immediate care of common sports injuries, introduction to sport specific assessment and rehabilitation techniques.
