An understanding of human physiology and related pathology of the body systems will be a foundation for success at higher levels. The focus will be on the body's response to tissues healing and repair. This subject also introduces the terminology, administration, absorption and effects of propriety, recreational and illicit drugs, with respect to the influence of drugs on the function of the body.
This course provides the student with knowledge and understanding of normal function and relationships of the body systems and imparts knowledge of therapeutic uses, toxicology, actions and interactions and abuse of prescription, over the counter and illegal drugs which is important in sports medicine and patient management.
