What is a Remedial Massage Therapist?
Remedial massage are soft tissue therapies that use a hands on approach to treatment. This includes a variety of massage techniques, stretching and associated methods. Sports and remedial massage assists with treating muscular tension and fatigue - soothing muscular aches and pains by encouraging the body to relax. Sports and remedial massage can improve circulation, by stretching the skin and providing a positive therapeutic touch.
This course is practical and gives you skills to establish and manage a successful remedial massage practice.
Program of Training
The [HLT40312] Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice is the entry point into a career in therapeutic or relaxation massage. Graduates are qualified to apply for member ship with professional associations at a Massage Therapist level and obtain practice insurance.
The [HLT50307] Diploma of Remedial Massage provides graduates with the advanced skills and knowledge required to establish and manage a private practice in remedial massage and adjunctive techniques. The focus of treatment is the rehabilitation of pain, restoration of mobility and treatment of injury to the muscles and joints. Graduates of the Diploma of Remedial Massage may articulate directly into the Advanced Diploma of Remedial Massage (Myotherapy).
Entry Requirements
There is no minimum enter score for this course. Applicants with a strong interest in this profession will be considered. The [HLT40312] Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice is pre-requisite to the [HLT50307] Diploma of Remedial Massage. Please include all relevant information with your Supplemental Form.
