What is a Personal Trainer?
These Nationally Recognised qualifications consist of units of competency that must be completed satisfactorily to achieve the award. Assessment is conducted via course work and subject examinations; i.e. classroom discussions/debates, content-based lessons, quizzes, projects and various other methods of assessment.
The [SIS50210] Diploma of Fitness is the highest recognised qualification in the fitness industry. This course equips graduates with the skills and knowledge to provide personal training, fitness programs and advise to a wide range of clients as a fitness and exercise specialist. Upon completion of this qualification students have the skills and knowledge to hit the ground running in a career as a gym instructor, personal trainer, fitness and exercise specialist.
Career Outcomes and Entry Requirements
A career as a Personal Trainer is a very rewarding and stimulating one. Graduates of the Certificate III & IV will be equipped with the knowledge and skill to begin their career working in a:
Gymnasium;
Health Centre;
Working with Sporting Teams, or;
Self-Employed Personal Trainer.
The Certificate III (SIS30310) & IV (SIS40210) in Fitness are pre-requisite to the Diploma of Fitness (SIS50210). Applicants of the Diploma must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 12 months industry experience.
