SPORTS THERAPY
You can help elite and recreational athletes achieve peak performance and be part of 'the action'. Sports therapists assess, treat and prevent disorders in human movement caused by injury or overuse using knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology and sports biomechanics and a range of appropriate treatments including soft tissue therapy and mobilization of joints.
Sports Therapists are integral members of the 'Sports Medicine Team', working in private practice; or as industry consultants working in a variety of settings including sporting clubs, sports medicine clinics, fitness centres and with teams.

MYOTHERAPY
Soft Tissue Musculo-Skeletal Assessment & Treatment
Myotherapy includes injury prevention, health and fitness promotion and maintenance as well as care during injury and rehabilitation. It is based on knowledge from the physical, biological, behavioural and medical sciences. Myotherapy training shares the foundations of anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, exercise science, and manual therapies with other hands on health practitioners, and covers a broad range of therapeutic modalities including myofascial techniques, soft tissue therapy, mobilisation, corrective exercises and trigger point dry needling, etc.
This course is designed to equip graduates with the practical skills and relevant scientific knowledge required to deliver applied musculo-skeletal techniques for the treatment and rehabilitation of injuries including sport, work and motor vehicle. Myotherapists work in a variety clinical situations including primary patient contact and by referral from other health care providers.

REMEDIAL THERAPY (Massage)
Remedial Therapies are the most popular and fastest growing area of health care in the world today. Remedial Therapists work by stimulating the body's own healing mechanisms through the 'touch' therapies and complementary techniques.
The Remedial Therapy and Sports Massage Programs at The Australian College of Sports Therapy are the most extensive program of their type and cover a broad range of therapeutic modalities with the emphasis on 'hands on' practical applications throughout the courses.
The Certificate IV in Massage (Relaxation and Sports) teaches skills and knowledge required to practice massage to enhance health and wellbeing.
The Diploma of Remedial Massage provides graduates with advanced skills and knowledge required to establish and manage a private practice remedial and therapeutic massage and adjunctive techniques in the treatment and rehabilitation of pain, loss of mobility and injury to the muscles and joints.
